Hoy, 29 de marzo de 2023, se cumplen 54 años de la fundación en Filipinas del Nuevo Ejército del Pueblo (NPA), brazo armado del Partido Comunista de Filipinas (CPP) que se refundó unos meses antes del NPA guiándose por el Marxismo-Leninismo-Maoísmo. Así se inició un proceso de guerra popular para liberar las islas de la opresión del imperialismo, el capitalismo burocrático y el semifeudalismo, que continúa hasta hoy. Cuatro años después de la fundación del CPP-NPA, se configuró el Frente Nacional Democrático (NDF), bajo el que se estructuran todas las organizaciones -no ilegalizadas- en lucha por la revolución de nueva democracia con perspectiva socialista.
Este movimiento ha crecido progresivamente, a pesar de la persecución y el terrorismo de Estado. Sus fuerzas operan en todas las regiones de Filipinas, en más de 110 frentes guerrilleros. El CPP cuenta con 150.000 militantes, el NPA está formado por miles de combatientes, a los que se suman decenas de miles de milicianos y milicianas populares y cientos de miles de personas en unidades de autodefensa. Las organizaciones de masas revolucionarias se sostienen en millones de miembros y el gobierno democrático del pueblo está establecido en amplias regiones y provincias.
Este proyecto lucha contra el sistemático silenciamiento de esta realidad. Denuncia el terrorismo de Estado que azota al pueblo filipino, especialmente a sus capas más pobres y a los pueblos indígenas. Facilita una selección de noticias y una biblioteca virtual con la voluntad de diseminar el rico y profundo conocimiento que este proceso revolucionario acumula, fomentando lazos solidarios y el cultivo de saberes y experiencias políticas decisivas para hacer frente a la ofensiva capitalista e imperialista.

Today, March 29, 2023, marks the 54th anniversary of the founding of the New People’s Army (NPA) in the Philippines, the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) which was refounded a few months before, guided by Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. This began a process of people’s war to liberate the islands from the oppression of imperialism, bureaucratic capitalism and semi-feudalism, which continues to this day. Four years after the founding of the CPP-NPA, the National Democratic Front (NDF) was formed, structuring all the organizations -not illegalized- in struggle for the new democratic revolution with a socialist perspective.
This movement has grown progressively, despite persecution and state terrorism. Its forces operate in all regions of the Philippines, in more than 110 guerrilla fronts. The CPP has 150,000 militants, the NPA is made up of thousands of fighters, to which are added tens of thousands of popular militiamen and women and hundreds of thousands of people in self-defense units. The revolutionary mass organizations are supported by millions of members and the people’s democratic government is established in large regions and provinces.
This project fights against the systematic silencing of this reality. We denounce the state terrorism that plagues the Filipino people, especially its poorest and indigenous peoples. It provides a selection of news and a virtual library with the will to spread the rich and deep knowledge that this revolutionary process accumulates, promoting solidarity ties and the cultivation of political experiences to confront the capitalist and imperialist offensive.
